Portal 4: Somatic Pleasure
Feel yourself & your pleasure
Portal to Pleasure in Perimenopause
During perimenopause, there is a risk that we disconnect from our bodies, to avoid feeling we distract, function, perform,… It’s important that we stay connected. The more you are connected to your body, the more present you are within yourself, the more you can experience yourself and feel your pleasure. Somatic pleasure is felt pleasure. Pleasure is nervous system regulating, emotional regulation, and it’s life force energy. It is what makes our life feel delicious and can make perimenopause a pleasurable phase of our life.

"I believe the more we expand our capacity for pleasure, and the more we care for our body, the more deeply in love with ourselves and life we can feel."
I’m Pleasurelit Patricia, award winning Somatic Pleasure Educator & Perimenopause Coach
After growing up as the good girl, becoming a high achiever and later leaving a DV marriage, I became fascinated by what helps us fall in love with ourselves and life. I have explored hundreds of somatic practices and pleasure tools, alongside more than 20 certifications and years of study across health, nutrition, fitness, somatics, yoga, breathwork, tantra and sexuality.
Through my programs, courses, coaching, and community, I help you build a pleasurable and healthy relationship with your body, so you can feel deliciously in love with yourself and life itself, especially during perimenopause and at times of disconnection.
I’m the founder of Pleasurelit®, bestselling author of The Pleasurelit Way, and host of Pleasurelit with Patricia, a top 5% globally ranked podcast.
Somatic Pleasure Tips
Take some time to be with yourself and do a slow body scan. Bring your attention to the sensations you can notice in your body. Ask yourself: What do I need right now?
Touch yourself regularly with the intention to feel yourself. For example, use your fingertips just lightly over your skin, that’s when you can feel your sensations even more. Or give yourself a warm loving hug.
Slow things down. Reduce rushing and skipping past little moments. Use your five senses to be fully present in the moment: what can you hear, smell, see, feel, and taste?
Somatic Pleasure Practice
Take one ordinary moment today, such as doing the dishes, brushing your teeth or washing your hair and turn it into something pleasurable by using all your senses, slowing down and allowing yourself to be fully present and feel your sensations.
With love & pleasure,
Patricia
