Last updated: 4 July 2026
Pleasurelit is owned and operated by Patricia Peters, a registered Sole Trader in Queensland, Australia (ABN 87182571122). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to pleasurelit.com, The Pleasure Explorer (our reviews publication, including its Substack), and all services, programs, sessions and communities offered by Pleasurelit.
We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Where you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we also handle your data in accordance with the GDPR and UK GDPR, as set out in the section for EU and UK residents below.
Questions can be sent anytime to pleasurelitmail@gmail.com.
What we collect
Contact and account information. Your name, email address, and where relevant your phone number, billing address and country, collected when you purchase, subscribe, enrol, apply or contact us.
Application and session information. When you apply for a 1:1 session, program or mentorship, we ask about your intentions, your circumstances and relevant health information. This can include sensitive personal information such as physical and mental health conditions, medication, trauma history and information about your emotional life and relationships. You choose what to share, and we treat everything you disclose as confidential.
Health and safety information. For services involving breathwork, movement or other somatic practices, we collect health disclosures needed to keep you safe, including contraindications.
Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment providers (such as Stripe, PayPal and ThriveCart). We never see or store your full card details. We keep records of what you purchased, when, and the amount, as required for tax and accounting.
Community and program participation. If you join our paid community or programs, we hold your membership status and, where live calls are recorded, those recordings may include your voice, image or shared words if you participate. We tell you before recording.
Marketing and website data. If you join our mailing list or download a free resource, we collect your email address and engagement data (such as opens and clicks) through our email platform. Our website and hosting collect standard technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and functionality. For details of cookies used by our hosting provider, see their policy linked in our website footer.
Why we collect it
We collect personal information to deliver our services and products, to assess applications and keep sessions safe and suitable for you, to process payments and maintain legally required records, to run our communities and programs, to respond to your messages, and to send you information and marketing you have signed up for. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time using the link in any email or by writing to us.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your sensitive information for marketing.
Sensitive information
Sensitive information, including health information and anything you share about your emotional, relational or sexual life, is collected only with your consent, used only for the purpose you shared it for (primarily to deliver your session, program or service safely), and never disclosed to anyone else except with your consent or where required by law. You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with, though some health disclosures are a condition of participating safely in practices like breathwork.
Who we share data with
We share personal information only with the service providers who make our business run, and only what they need:
- Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, ThriveCart) to take payments
- Substack, which hosts our publications and paid community and processes subscriptions under its own privacy policy
- Our email marketing platform, to deliver newsletters and course communications
- Video platforms such as Zoom and Riverside, to deliver online sessions and live calls
- Our website hosting provider
- Professional advisers (such as an accountant) and authorities where required by law
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by the provider's compliance frameworks and contractual safeguards. We never transfer your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
How we protect and keep it
Your personal information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Access to client information, including applications and session notes, is limited to Patricia.
Client records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to meet Australian tax and record-keeping obligations, after which they are deleted or de-identified. Marketing data is kept while you remain subscribed. If we suffer a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by law.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or out of date. You may ask us to delete your personal information, and we will do so except where we are legally required to retain it (for example, financial records within the 7 year retention period). You may withdraw consent to marketing at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email pleasurelitmail@gmail.com. We do not charge for requests, though we may need to verify your identity before releasing information.
For EU and UK residents
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to our handling of your data, and the following additional points apply.
Legal bases. We process your data on the basis of contract (to deliver what you purchased), consent (for marketing, and for all sensitive and health information, which is special category data processed only with your explicit consent), legitimate interests (website security and basic business administration), and legal obligation (tax records).
Your additional rights. Beyond access, correction and deletion, you have the right to data portability, the right to restrict or object to processing, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
International transfer. Pleasurelit is based in Australia, so your data is transferred to and processed in Australia, and by our providers in the United States. By purchasing or subscribing, you are informed of this transfer, and our providers operate under recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Complaints. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern directly first.
Age
Our services, products and publications are intended for adults. You must be 18 years or older to purchase from us, subscribe, or participate in our services and communities.
Testimonials and comments
Testimonials are published only with permission. If you leave comments on our websites, the information you submit, along with your IP address, may be collected for spam prevention and moderation. Comments and their metadata are retained so follow-up comments can be recognised. You may request deletion of your comments at any time.
Third-party links and embedded content
Our websites and publications may link to or embed content from other websites (for example video embeds or brand links on The Pleasure Explorer). Those websites operate under their own privacy policies, may set their own cookies, and may collect data about your interaction with their content. We are not responsible for their practices, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on our website, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
Complaints and contact
If you have a question or complaint about how we have handled your personal information, contact us at pleasurelitmail@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or, for EU and UK residents, your local data protection authority.
