"I believe the more we expand our capacity for pleasure, and the more we care for our body, the more deeply in love with ourselves and life we can feel."
I’m Pleasurelit Patricia, award winning Somatic Pleasure Educator & Perimenopause Coach
After growing up as the good girl, becoming a high achiever and later leaving a DV marriage, I became fascinated by what helps us fall in love with ourselves and life. I have explored hundreds of somatic practices and pleasure tools, alongside more than 20 certifications and years of study across health, nutrition, fitness, somatics, yoga, breathwork, tantra and sexuality.
Through my programs, courses, coaching, and community, I help you build a pleasurable and healthy relationship with your body, so you can feel deliciously in love with yourself and life itself, especially during perimenopause and at times of disconnection.
I’m the founder of Pleasurelit®, bestselling author of The Pleasurelit Way, and host of Pleasurelit with Patricia, a top 5% globally ranked podcast.
Perimenopause Sleep Tips
If you wake in the middle of the night and get back to sleep, get up rather than lying there and starting to “hate” it or get into a negative head spiral. “This is uncomfortable and it will pass” perspective can help rather than being full on negative about it. Do something that will nourish you and connect you to your body, such as a breathing technique, stretch, yoga, have a cup of tea or read and then try again.
Make bedtimes consistent with the same bed and wake up time every day. Consistency is one of the strongest levers in the studies on perimenopausal insomnia.
Create a bedtime routine that works for you: dim lights, avoid big meals, alcohol and caffeine directly before bed, explore the right room temperature, use your favourite bedsheets, skin care and other self-care practice. I love my bamboo bedsheets (they have a cooling effect and luxury feeling).
Perimenopause Sleep Practice
Put your phone away an hour before bedtime and make yourself and your sleep a priority. Do the things that nourish you and make you feel excited to slide into bed to sleep. Explore different ways until you find something that works for you.
With love & pleasure,
Patricia
