This solo episode explores the journey from functioning to feeling, giving you a vulnerable insight into my journey as a high-functioning woman in recovery.

In today’s fast-paced world, many women are actually high-functioning.

But what does that really mean?

Are we truly thriving, or just managing to keep it all together?

Podcast Episode

High-functioning women often appear to have it all together. They excel in their careers, manage households, and juggle various responsibilities effortlessly. However, underneath lies a deeper issue: many high-functioning women believe they are emotionally regulated when, in reality, they may be suppressing their true feelings. And I know this, because I was one of them.

High functioning women are capable and strong. They handle stress and multitask with ease, but this often comes at a cost. Sleepless nights, digestive issues such as bloating, puffiness, weight that doesn’t shift, isolation,…. It’s easy to overlook our emotional well-being when we are busy performing.

Pleasure is the missing ingredient, or nutrient as I like to call it now, in the lives of high-functioning women. In my experience, prioritising pleasure is essential for emotional and physical health & well-being.

You are doing everything right. So why does nothing feel like enough and why doesn’t any of it feel good?

Something is missing..

I am Patricia. I was a high-functioning woman who held everything together and felt absolutely nothing inside. The high achiever, perfectionist, people pleaser, the strong one, the good girl, the independent woman. Capable of everything except being present in my own body. I was disconnected, on autopilot, tense, always on.

Pleasure is your missing key that will change everything.

I know what it costs a woman to keep holding it all together - the sleepless nights, constant overthinking, digestive issues, unable to hold space for your children, isolation, sales dropping. And I know what becomes possible when a woman finally stops performing and allows herself to experience pleasure.

I guide high-functioning women through Pleasurelit Alchemy, my signature four-stage framework, to reconnect with their bodies, expand their capacity for pleasure, and stop abandoning themselves to hold everything together - so they become the Pleasurelit Woman: radiant, regulated & deliciously turned on.

I’m a mother, E D & D V survivor, former nurse, pleasure explorer, and an award-winning educator in tantra and somatic pleasure embodiment. I’m the founder of Pleasurelit®, the bestselling author of The Pleasurelit Way, and host of the top 5% podcast Pleasurelit with Patricia.

High-functioning women often disconnect from their bodies, because they focus on performance, doing more and ding it quickly.

Breaking free from the high-functioning pattern requires a conscious effort to reconnect with our bodies, to feel safe in our bodies to feel and embrace pleasure in our lives.

Recognise that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed or exhausted. Acknowledging your emotions. Learning to receive, support, help, pleasure.

Make time for activities that bring you joy, whether it’s reading, dancing, or simply taking a moment to breathe deeply.

Surround yourself with a supportive community that understands your journey. Share your experiences and lean on others for encouragement.

The journey from being a high-functioning woman to embracing pleasure is not easy, but it is essential for a fulfilling life. By prioritising pleasure, we can reclaim our health and live more authentically.

And that is what I am so passionate and devoted to helping women from high-functioning to feeling radiant, regulated and deliciously turned on. Because I know the costs of staying in high-functioning patterns, and I know whats possible when we start feeling and living in our bodies.
